ADVERTISEMENT Public notice is hereby given that the Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority will receive sealed bids at 2200 Robinson Boulevard, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania 15221 on February 5, 2015 until 10:00 AM prevailing time for the Mainline Water Replacement under the following Contract: CONTRACT NO. 14-018 2014 MAIN LINE REPLACEMENT HAMILTON DRIVE AND HAMILTON DRIVE EXTENSION This project consists of the installation of approximately 1700 linear feet of 8-inch diameter ductile waterline pipe, 3 gate valves, fire hydrant, copper service installation, service reconnections, pavement restoration, and all necessary appurtenances. Plans and specifications are on file at the office of the Authority, 2200 Robinson Boulevard, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221 and at the office of Chester Engineers, 1555 Coraopolis Heights Road, Moon Township, PA 15108. Copies of the plans and specifications for this Contract may be purchased for $100.00 per set, nonrefundable, from Chester Engineers. A certified check payable to the Wilkinsburg-Penn Joint Water Authority or a bid bond on the bid form executed by the Bidder and a surety company approved by the Owner, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid, to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any applicable municipal ordinances. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Work under the aforementioned Contract is subject to the requirements of the "Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act" (1961 August 15, PL 987; P.S. 165) and subsequent amendments. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will occur on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10 am in the Authority offices. Only bidders attending the pre-bid meeting will be permitted to bid.
